Terms of Service

Last updated: June 29, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Stein (“Stein”, “we”, “us”), including our website, desktop app, and web app. By creating an account or using Stein, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

Stein is a real-time AI meeting copilot. It transcribes your calls, surfaces live coaching, answers questions about your screen, and generates summaries after the call. Stein is available as a desktop app (Mac and Windows) and in your browser.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable use and recording consent

You agree to use Stein lawfully. In particular, you are responsible for complying with all recording, wiretap, and consent laws that apply to you and your meeting participants, including notifying others where required. Do not use Stein to break the law, infringe others' rights, or capture meetings you are not permitted to capture.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and free tier

Stein offers a free tier (currently one call per month) and a paid plan billed at a flat monthly price. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices and plan limits may change with notice.

5. Your content

You own your meeting audio, transcripts, summaries, and the files you upload. You grant us a limited license to process this content solely to provide and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you capture and upload.

6. Intellectual property

Stein, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works except as allowed by law.

7. Third-party services

Stein relies on third-party providers (for example for transcription, AI, capture, hosting, and payments) and integrates with meeting tools like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. We are not responsible for those third parties, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

8. AI output disclaimer

Stein uses AI, which can be inaccurate or incomplete. Coaching, answers, and summaries are suggestions to assist you, not professional advice. You are responsible for what you say and do in your meetings.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using Stein and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to us or others.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use Stein after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
