1. Information we collect
We collect the following so Stein can work and improve:
- Account information: your name, email address, and authentication details (including via Google sign-in).
- Meeting content: audio from the calls you run Stein on, the transcripts generated from that audio, and the coaching, answers, and summaries we produce.
- Screen captures: when you use the ask-your-screen feature, the image you choose to share is sent to our AI provider to answer your question.
- Knowledge base: files and text you upload (such as pricing, playbooks, and notes) to ground Stein's coaching.
- Usage data: basic logs, device and browser information, and product analytics.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide live transcription and coaching, generate post-meeting summaries, operate and secure your account, process payments, provide support, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers (subprocessors)
We share data with vendors who help us run Stein, only as needed to provide the service. These currently include:
- Deepgram, for speech-to-text transcription.
- Cohere and Google (Gemini), for generating coaching, answers, and summaries.
- Recall.ai, for audio capture on desktop and meeting bots.
- Our hosting and database providers (such as Vercel, Fly.io, and Neon).
- Our payment processor (such as Paystack and/or Stripe).
Each provider is permitted to use your data only to perform services for us.
4. Meeting recordings and consent
Stein captures meeting audio at your direction to transcribe and coach you. You are responsible for complying with the recording and consent laws that apply to you and your participants, including telling others when required. You control which meetings Stein runs on.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and meeting data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete meetings from your dashboard, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the product is used.
9. Children
Stein is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the providers listed above. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
